Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Rekindl helps you set and act on personal and shared intentions. We take the privacy of your relationship data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Who we are
Rekindl is an Oakhouse app operated by Oliver Todd. Contact: privacy@rekindlme.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (for sign-in and confirmation) and a display name you choose.
- Onboarding answers: a few multiple-choice answers about what you want to work on. These personalise the AI suggestions only.
- Intentions & completions: the intentions you create, their cadence, whether you've marked them done, and whether you've chosen to share an intention with a linked partner.
- Partner links: if you invite or accept a partner, we store the link between your two accounts and any invite you send (the invitee's email address, until the invite is accepted or expires).
- Technical: standard security/operational logs from our backend provider.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, or device advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To provide the core app: store your intentions, sync a shared list with a linked partner, and sign you in.
- To generate AI suggestions: your onboarding answers are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) via our secure backend to suggest small intentions. Rekindl is not a therapist and does not diagnose or counsel — the AI only suggests ideas.
- To send transactional email (sign-up confirmation, partner invites).
- To understand how the app is used, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics) — for example that an intention was created. This is not tied to advertising and is never sold.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Sharing & sub-processors
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and backend functions.
- Google (Gemini API) — processes your onboarding answers to generate suggestions. Prompts are not used to train Google's models under the API terms.
- Google (Firebase Analytics) — anonymous, aggregated product analytics.
- A linked partner — only the intentions you explicitly mark shared are visible to a partner you've linked with. Nothing else about your account is shared with them.
What a partner can and can't see
When two accounts are linked, each partner can see only the intentions the other has toggled shared. Unshared/personal intentions, your onboarding answers, and your email remain private. If either of you unlinks, the couple is dissolved for both and all previously-shared intentions immediately revert to private.
Your choices & rights
- Edit your display name any time (You → tap your profile).
- Unlink a partner any time (You → Partner → Unlink).
- Delete your account in-app (You → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, your intentions and completions, your sent invites, and dissolves any partner link (reverting the partner's shared view). This cannot be undone.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@rekindlme.com.
Data retention
We keep your data until you delete your account. Pending partner invites expire automatically.
Children
Rekindl is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
Changes
We'll update this policy here and change the "last updated" date. Material changes will be surfaced in-app.
